PRIDDIS, Alberta -- Five months after giving away a major championship with a late meltdown, Ariya Jutanugarn ran away with the Canadian Pacific Womens Open at chilly Priddis Greens for her fifth victory in 10 events.Jutanugarn made a 12-birdie putt on the final hole for a 6-under 66 and a four-stroke victory over South Koreas Sei Young Kim. The 20-year-old Thai player won nine days after withdrawing from the Rio Olympics because of a left knee injury, a problem that almost forced her to skip the event.I feel like Im going to withdraw this week because my knee hurt so bad last week, Jutanugarn said. But when I got here on Monday and Tuesday, its getting a lot better, and first round its fine.Bundled up in a winter jacket between shots with the temperature in the lows 50s on the overcast afternoon, the second-ranked Jutanugarn broke a tie with top-ranked Lydia Lo for the LPGA Tour victory lead.Jutanugarn focused on having fun -- and did. Blasting 2-iron and 3-wood off the driving holes on the tree-lined course, she birdied the par-5 seventh and par-3 eighth to get to 19 under, then pulled away with birdies on the par-5 12th, par-4 14th, par-3 15th and par-5 18th.I felt like I wanted to have fun and be happy, Jutanugarn said. No matter whats going to happen, I can handle it.That wasnt the case all that long ago. In April at the ANA Inspiration in the California desert, Jutanugarn -- at the time, best known for blowing a two-stroke lead with a closing triple bogey at age 17 in the 2013 LPGA Thailand -- bogeyed the final three holes to hand the major title to Ko.Jutanugarn rebounded in a big way, breaking through in May with three straight victories in Alabama, Virginia and Michigan. She won the Womens British Open in the event before the Olympics, and made it two in a row on the tour Sunday in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. After I won my first tournament, I feel like I reached my goal, and after that I feel like I dont care like what my ranking going to be. I dont care if Im going to win the tournament or not. The only thing I want to be is I really want to be happy on the course. She has five victories in 10 events a year after missing 10 straight cuts.I just feel like at that time, the only focus, `Im scared to miss the cut. I really want to make the cut, Jutanugarn said. But after that I feel like I changed my focus, so right now my focus is like whats going to be good, like what I have to do to be good, so Im thinking about like what is under my control, not thinking about like anything else.Jutanugarn matched the tournament record for relation of 23 under set by So Yeon Ryu two years ago at London Hunt in Ontario and the mark for strokes of 265 set by Ryu and also accomplished by Ko in 2013 at par-70 Royal Mayfair in Edmonton.Kim, a two-time winner this year, closed with a 65. South Koreas In Gee Chun, the 2015 U.S. Womens Open champion, was third at 18 under after a 69. Canadas Alena Sharp had the best result of her LPGA Tour career, birdieing the final two holes for a 67 to finish fourth at 16 under.I cant really describe how great it feels to play this well in Canada, said Sharp, from Hamilton, Ontario.Australias Karrie Webb (64) and Swedens Anna Nordqvist (68) tied for fifth at 15 under. Webb won the 1999 du Maurier Classic, the then-major championship that folded because of Canadas restrictions on tobacco promotions, at Priddis Greens. She was second behind Suzann Pettersen at the course in 2009.On the back nine, everything went in, Webb said.Three-time champion Ko had a 69 to tie for seventh at 13 under.I was a little far away going into today, the 19-year-old New Zealander said. But its been a great week. She won three of the previous four years, the first two as an amateur.Canadian star Brooke Henderson shot a 69 to tie for 14th at 11 under. The 18-year-old from Smith Falls, Ontario, is already thinking about next years tournament at Ottawa Hunt.We recently became members at the Ottawa Hunt, so its my home golf course, Henderson said. Its only 45 minutes from my house. She also will play in her home province next week in the Manulife LPGA Classic in Cambridge.DIVOTS: Japans Ayako Uehara had a hole-in-one for the second straight day. After acing the 11th with a hybrid from 158 yards Saturday, she holed a 7-iron from 164 yards on the eighth. Shes the fourth player in LPGA Tour history with two aces in a week. MILWAUKEE -- Archie Bradley had a plan and worked it perfectly.Bradley pitched seven solid innings, Yasmany Tomas had two homers and five RBI and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-1 on Wednesday night.I wanted to be more aggressive and attack the zone more than I usually do, Bradley said. Come out the gate and throw strikes. Get our defense off the field and into the batters box.Bradley (4-6) allowed one run on four hits, walked three and struck out six in his longest start since going 7 1/3 innings in a 6-3 win over the San Diego Padres on May 29.Bradley, a 23-year-old right-hander, allowed Jonathan Villars lead-off double and nothing else until Hernan Perez hit a soft liner to right with two outs in the fifth. Perezs sacrifice fly in the seventh spoiled the shutout. He was painting, Perez said. He was hitting the corners. He was mixing his pitches. (Catcher Welington) Castillo called a great game. His curveball was sharp. He threw the ball wherever he wanted.Tomas and Castillo turned in two key plays in the first to help Bradley out.Scooter Gennett followed Villar with a walk, and then Ryan Braun lined out to Tomas in right. Gennett hustled back to the bag trying to beat Tomas throw, but after a 1:55 review, the safe call was overturned. Castillo then threw out Villar trying to steal third with two outs. The first inning was out of The Twilight Zone. Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. It is not something Ive ever seen. It was just strange.Tomas supplied all the power. The Brewers season-high five errors -- three by right fielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis and two by shortstop Villar -- did the rest. After capping a five-run first inning with a three-run shot, Tomas produced his fifth multihomer game this season when he sliced an 0-2 pitch from starter Jimmy Nelson (6-9) over the wall in right for a two-run shot in the fifth that put the game out of reach.Every time he takes a swing, its dangerous, Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said. He swings with bad intentions. He looks confident. Hes getting pitches to hit late in the count and hes using the whole field.Nelson left two batters after Tomas shot in his shortest start since going 3 2/3 innings on June 15th against San Francisco.Nelson matched his career high of eight runs for the third time. He walked two, struck out seven and slipped to 1-6 over his laast 10 starts.ddddddddddddRandall Delgado took over for Bradley and pitched two scoreless innings of relief.TEACHABLE MOMENTBefore the Diamondbacks batted in the third, Counsell took Villar out of the game. Counsell wasnt upset with his two errors in the top of the first, but rather Villar getting caught trying to steal third in the bottom half of the inning.Thats just something he has to improve on, Counsell said. He understands he made a mistake. Well just move forward from it.DIAMONDBACK SUCCESSArizona is 15-9 in its last 24 games against the Brewers.GREINKE UPDATERHP Zack Greinke (left oblique strain) is scheduled to make a rehab start for the Rookie-level AZL Diamondbacks on Friday at Salt River Fields. Manager Chip Hale said Greinke felt great during the bullpen.Greinke will ramp up to 80 pitches following Fridays outing, possibly with Arizona.Well see how he feels after 60, Hale said. Then, can we afford to have a guy thats only going 80, 85 pitches for us with how our bullpen looks? Pollock still aims to play this season after fracturing his right elbow in an exhibition game April 1. The Diamondbacks are hoping Pollock can be cleared to play games in the next couple of weeks.
